Central Credit Register
The National Bank collects information on all loans and bank accounts in Belgium through three different central organisations. Thus, the Central Point of Contact for accounts and financial contracts (CPC) registers foreign accounts, while the Corporate Credit Register (CCR) helps banks to better assess the level of indebtedness of companies. Finally, lenders can rely on the Central Individual Credit Register (CICR) for example to prevent overindebtedness.
You can consult the data registered in your name in the Central Individual Credit Register via the itsme application on your smartphone.
All Belgian residents holding foreign accounts must declare their foreign accounts directly to the Central Point of Contact for accounts and financial contracts (CPC).
