Sara Pauwels
Head of Legal & Resolution Execution Team
After obtaining a PhD in law from Ghent University, Sara joined the Bank’s prudential supervision department in 2014. In 2017, she moved to the Resolution Unit, where she currently heads the Legal and Resolution Execution Team. A specialist in bank resolution, Sara closely follows legislative and policy developments in this field and represents the Bank within various resolution-related networks and bodies at EU level (the SRB and the EBA).
Sara is an alumnus of the Financial Law Institute at Ghent University and the author of the book Bancair Insolventierecht, a commercial edition of her PhD thesis.
