Jonas Willequet

Jonas Willequet obtained a master’s degree in physics and astronomy from Ghent University in 2009. He then worked for two years as a secondary school teacher in the Netherlands before moving to the financial sector, initially as a consultant. Jonas joined the NBB in March 2015, as an inspector of bank risk models. In 2020, he moved to the Middle Office team in the Financial Markets Department.

Jonas focuses on calculation of the NBB’s exposure to financial risks, from both the Bank’s own investments and its activities in relation to monetary policy in the Eurosystem. He is involved in the estimation of classic financial risks, such as credit risk and exchange rate risk, and is also interested in the role played by climate change in risk management.
