Did you file annual accounts on time (1 September) but were wrongly asked to pay a surcharge for late filing? Here are your options.

Did you file annual accounts on time (1 September) but were wrongly asked to pay a surcharge for late filing? There are three possible situations:

Situation 1: The annual accounts have been published and you have paid the filing fee and the surcharge

In this case, the NBB will refund the surcharge in the course of September.

Situation 2: The annual accounts are marked as “payment initiated”

In this case, the filer should cancel the payment order (NOT the filing itself). This can be done via “Manage payment”. Click on the “Cancel payment” button. The status will then change to “ready for payment”. The filer should then send an e-mail to [email protected] explaining the problem encountered and indicating the enterprise number.

Situation 3: The annual accounts are marked as “ready for payment”

In this case, the filer should send an e-mail to [email protected] explaining the problem and indicating the company number. The NBB will manually remove the surcharge as soon as possible and inform the filer when it can proceed with payment.
