Internationale conferentie 2014 over "Total factor productivity: measurement, determinants and effects"

Totale factorproductiviteit (TFP) is vervat in de kern van heel wat economische resultaten. De recente economische crisis, bijvoorbeeld, heeft vragen doen rijzen over de oorzaken en de omvang van de productiviteitsvertraging en over haar invloed op de groei, de conjunctuur, het concurrentievermogen, arbeidsmarktontwikkelingen en het economisch beleid. Nog elementen die door TFP worden bepaald, zijn de economische strategieën van ondernemingen en hun prestatie op lokale en internationale markten, werkgelegenheid, loonvorming en de oprichting en ontbinding van bedrijven.

De conferentie bracht zes bijdragen van Belgische academische teams en drie bijdragen van vooraanstaande internationale academici die deze thema’s behandelden. De paneldiscussie was gericht op de lessen welke uit die werkzaamheden kunnen worden getrokken en de gevolgen voor het economisch beleid.
