Labour costs

Labour costs consist largely of expenses borne by a company for employing a salaried worker. They are broken down into:

  • a direct cost component, composed mainly of gross wages plus various benefits (benefits in kind, profit-sharing and incentive packages);
  • an indirect cost component, largely consisting of legal and conventional employers’ contributions and various charges (vocational training, transport costs, social work).
