You can exchange your old Belgian banknotes free of charge at the National Bank's counters (bd de Berlaimont 3, 1000 Brussels).

| N.B. | Send the banknotes together with a completed and signed form, a copy of the requester’s identity card (both of side), and the name and bank details of the actual recipient to the following address: Central Cash Office, Boulevard de Berlaimont 14, 1000 Brussels. For information on sending your values, please refer to the instructions of bpost. Belgian banknotes with a value of between 20 and 50 BEF issued by the Treasury cannot be exchanged. Belgian coins
It is no longer possible to exchange Belgian franc or ecu coins.
Foreign currency
Many banknotes and coins of other euro area countries can still be exchanged at the counters of the national central bank concerned. The European Centrale Bank’s website sets out the conditions and addresses.
