You can exchange your old Belgian banknotes free of charge at the National Bank's counters (bd de Berlaimont 3, 1000 Brussels).

Payment The corresponding value is transferred to your bank account.
 N.B. Send the banknotes together with a completed and signed form, a copy of the requester’s identity card (both of side), and the name and bank details of the actual recipient to the following address: Central Cash Office, Boulevard de Berlaimont 14, 1000 Brussels.

Parcels from UK
From 1 January 2021, the UK is no longer part of the EU’s single market and customs union and new rules apply. Parcels coming from outside the EU zone will be subject to a customs fee which will be charged to you.

Belgian coins

It is no longer possible to exchange Belgian franc or ecu coins.

Foreign currency

Many banknotes and coins of other euro area countries can still be exchanged at the counters of the national central bank concerned. The European Centrale Bank’s website sets out the conditions and addresses.
