In order to avoid any confusion or any malpractice, the reproduction of banknotes is subject to very specific rules.
In order to avoid any confusion or any malpractice, the reproduction of euro banknotes is subject to very specific rules, and their use as an advertising medium is prohibited.

To avoid any confusion or any malpractice the reproduction of Belgian franc banknotes which can still be exchanged at the National Bank's counters, is subject to specific rules. These rules can be found in the official notice concerning the reproduction of banknotes for publicity reasons or other purposes.
In addition, the National Bank allows for the electronic reproduction of banknotes in Belgian franc under the same conditions that apply to euro banknotes: see Article 2.3, f) of the Decision of the ECB of 19 April 2013 on the denominations, specifications, reproduction, exchange and withdrawal of euro banknotes.
