4.3 Guidelines on suitability criteria

This point sets out (non-exhaustive) guidelines on how to apply the suitability criteria in concrete terms. The basic principle is that suitability assessments require an in-depth examination of the information collected in order to obtain as complete and accurate a picture as possible of a person’s suitability for a particular position.

4:22 The following 5 criteria should be considered: (i) expertise (fitness) in terms of knowledge, experience and skills; (ii) professional integrity (propriety); (iii) independence of mind; (iv) time commitment; and (v) collective suitability.
