Statutory basis of the CCR
Credit institutions and leasing companies are required by law to submit to the Corporate Credit Register (CCR) data on the credit and leasing agreements they conclude with legal and natural persons further to the conduct of a professional activity.
The purpose of the CCR and the registration, updating and consultation of data are strictly regulated by law.
The CCR meets the requirements of the ECB’s AnaCredit Regulation on the collection of credit and credit risk data.
The statutory basis for the CCR is comprised of Belgian and European legislation:
- AnaCredit Regulation - Regulation (EU) 2016/867 of the European Central Bank of 18 May 2016 on the collection of granular credit and credit risk data (ECB/2016/13)
- Act of 28 November 2021 on the organisation of a Corporate Credit Register (CCR)
- Royal decree of 27 December 2021 on the functioning of the Corporate Credit Register
