Griet Vermeir
Settlement of securities transactions
Griet Vermeir began her career at the NBB in 1983 in the Payments Department. After around ten years, she moved to the Central Balance Sheet Office and later to the Central Credit Registers team. In 2013, she rejoined the Payments Department, which was later merged with the Securities Department to become the Payments and Securities Department.
As is widely known, there has been a major technological and functional (r)evolution in payment and securities systems over the past forty years. As someone working on operational issues, Griet had the opportunity to witness this fascinating process up close. After more than 40 years, Griet ended her busy career at the NBB in 2024.
