Economic growth in Belgium came in at 0.3% in the fourth quarter of 2023, in line with expectations. GDP growth is currently forecast to accelerate slightly, to 0.4%, in the first quarter of 2024.

According to data from SHARE surveys conducted between 2011 and 2020, although the statutory retirement age in Belgium is 65, the average retirement age is actually 61. But this is drifting upwards.
