The Central Balance Sheet Office gathers, processes and publishes annual accounts and prepares statistics. It examines whether the annual accounts satisfy certain arithmetical and logical checks. The filing company is responsible for the accuracy of the filed annual accounts.
Based on the filed annual accounts it must be possible to form an opinion of the company’s financial position.
The ‘Company file’ may be of use in this respect. The Central Balance Sheet Office prepares this file based on the annual accounts published by the company. The company’s results are compared to the results of the sector to which it belongs (this is also presented in the form of financial ratios).
