RECOUR

RECOUR, the current account system of the National Bank of Belgium (NBB), is used for the settlement of operations on accounts held by the credit institutions.

It concerns payments of the cash leg of the transactions in the securities settlement system (NBB-SSS) and payment orders within the framework of our mission as Treasurer and for the credit institutions within the framework of their compulsory reserves (except for the direct participants in Target2).

Within the scope of the migration of the NBB and the Belgian banking community towards TARGET2, the settlement of the end-of-day balances of the CEC and of the cash side of the NYSE/Euronext Brussels off-exchanges does no longer take place in RECOUR, but on or through accounts opened by participants in the Payment Module (PM) of the Single Shared Platform van TARGET2.

The RECOUR application also manages the accounts of other external customers and of the NBB's services and branches.
